Greetings & Welcome to Philadelphia High School!!

I am thrilled to be part of such an amazing community serving as Principal for bright and eager scholars. As we embark upon a new year with new ideas and new faces, we welcome your presence, collaborative input, and to be a part of our TEAM.  

At PHS, we are dedicated to fostering an environment that nurtures not only academic excellence, but personal growth and character development. Our talented and dedicated staff are committed to providing a well-rounded education that prepares our students for success in an ever-changing world. 

Throughout the year, you will witness our commitment to innovation, creativity, and a student- centered approach; all while holding each TEAM member accountable. We will continue to expand the learning opportunities for students and inspire them to be productive citizens.

Philadelphia High School Students attend GTP STEM Weekend

Mrs. Cumberland's Advanced Placement (AP)® students, Alex Walker, Mandela Middleton, and Quan Clemons, attended a three-day seminar with Jackson State University and the Mississippi Civil Rights Museum for the MLK weekend (January 17-19). The students were chosen to participate in The Global Teaching Project’s Advanced STEM Winter Program.

Philadelphia Public School District Achieves “B” Rated Accountability Score

The Philadelphia Public School District is thrilled to announce a significant and historic advancement in academic performance, as it has achieved a “B” rating for the 2023-24 school year and is considered to be a High Performing School District according to the Mississippi Department of Education. This achievement marks a dramatic turnaround for the district, which was classified as a failing district in 2019 and has made remarkable strides to reach this new milestone.
